A Merry Mac Christmas!!!

Well this is in the sprit of the holiday's! This is a weird/geek post about a contest I found through www.macworld.com. It's a developer contest where their are holiday apps that are being developed as freeware for charity!

Here's what www.cocoduel.com tells about themselves:

~ Welcome to A Holiday Cocoa Duel! The duel is a charity event in which Mac
OS X developers battle it out for supremacy
(and beer). The developers write small holiday-themed applications, and you
pick which one you like most by donating to
that developer's charity of choice!

Here's the scoop: The duel is a mix between Ironcoder and Snö. Entrants will:

write some small holiday-themed OS X app similar to ittpoi's Snö, and release
it as open-source
commit to purchasing a gift of a $20 value (or two six packs of good beer) for
the winner.~

These are truly amazing little Christmas apps. Like the application that is in the lead is called snowplane, and it is a nifty little application that places snow in the back ground of your laptop, which you can even blow around using your mouse.
Cow shows us in this video (he's in the background) how pretty it is, especially when your in the south and it doesn't snow.

There are also nifty applications such as Snow Wars where snowman attack each other using snow balls (It probably seems gross to the snowmen to being throwing snow balls at each other.... It's like us throwing what's inside of us at each other)
http://gusmueller.com/stuff/snowars3.mp4

There is also a game where Santa shoot's down airplanes with snow balls....
It's also very disconcerting to be shooting down airplanes as Santa when "Away in a manger" is playing in the background....

Anyway besides that this is a great cause that combines Beer programmers and Christmas spirit, and doesn't end up with an Office Christmas party in which no one can remember what there job is because there alcohol level is higher than IQ.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM TOKI-CHAN AND COW!!!
(goes off to shoot airplanes with snowballs, with a snowing background....)
